Love Conquers All Sired Perilous Love Blitzes Field & Win for Gollan Trained Sheiswhatsheis!

Written on the 13 March 2017

Perilous Love sired by Love Conquers All out of Dam Perri Lou was the standout performance at Doomben on Saturday - Race 4 Hiflow Industries High Fives! QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap over 2030 metres. The 3yo filly blitzed the field when she made a dash forward at the 200m mark to claim victory by a 5.3 length lead over Up The Tempo in second and close behind in third, Shock Alert.

With a lacklustre career last season, she seems to have found her niche since January over the longer distances, with 1800m in January and February, and now this 2030m race.

A nice return on investment from this $9,000 runner with prizemoney to date of $72,000 from 3 wins off 16 starts.

Another Brisbane run in a fortnight is expected for Perilous Love before trainer Scott Morrisey locks in a start in the ATC Oaks next month at Randwick.

UBET has trimmed Perilous Love's Oaks price from $51 to $21.

A beautiful comeback for Tony Gollan trained Sheiswhatsheis on Saturday at Race 5 Load of Laughter Benchmark 75 over 1630 metres at Doomben. The 5yo mare was ridden well by Alannah Fancourt, taking the lead soon after the start and consistently riding her through to a 2.3 length lead over Capetown Hussey in second with I'm No Ruby coming in close behind at third place.

Sheiswhatsheis sired by Bernardini out of dam Cry Baby hasn't experienced a win since her first season in 2015. In February she came close with 2 x second place over shorter distances.

Gollan shouldered part of the blame for the losing sequence of almost two years, saying he had erred by keeping the mare to races up to 1350m in the past two years.

"She won over a mile in her first prep and was also stakes placed at 1800m and I made a blue keeping her to the shorter races after that," Gollan said.

"In hindsight, she's been screaming out for a mile and I think she will run 2000m now."

"Maybe I'm a slow learner and she's teaching me."

Despite Gollan's thoughts, Sheiswhatsheis started out well in her career with her first two races over shorter distances.

She's another horse who has done well from a ticket price of just $30,000, having won prizemoney to date of $216,900.00. She's had 4 wins from 19 starts and I'm sure there's plenty more left in the tank for this over-mile runner.
