Aquis Farm Open Day and Stallion Parade Invitation!

Written on the 11 August 2017

After the success of last year's debut Aquis Farm Open Day and Stallion Parade, Team Thoroughbreds is looking forward to another viewing of the stallions on parade and the great hospitality this weekend. And you are invited too! Please see link below for essential guest registration.

Last year the Aquis Farm Stallion Parade at its Canungra property hosted more than 1,000 guests, being one of the highlights of the Queensland breeding industry.

After the addition of the Emirates Park earlier in the year, this year Aquis Farm will be holding four separate stallion parades across their two properties at Canungra and Murrurundi in the New South Wales' Hunter Valley.

The Canungra property will swing open its gates on Sunday, 13th August at 10:30am with the parade kicking off at 11:00am followed by lunch and a family open day. The dates for the NSW stallion parades and open days run from Friday, 25th through to Sunday, 27th August.

Here's a list of the stallions that will be on show at Canungra on Sunday along with some further information Aquis Farm has supplied on the below stallions:

  • Husson (ARG) (Hussonet) $13,200
  • Spill The Beans (Snitzel) $11,000
  • Furnaces (Exceed and Excel) $9,900
  • Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) (Danehill) $9,900
  • Domesday (Red Ransom) $8,800
  • Benfica (Lonhro) $4,400
  • Sweet Orange (USA) (War Front) $4,400

A brilliant Group II winning son of record breaking 2017 Australian Champion Sire Snitzel, Spill The Beans was straight off the track when presented to breeders last spring and 12 months on has let down into a magnificent stallion.

Spill The Beans covered 202 mares last year making him the busiest first season sire in Australia, so there are many excited breeders out there eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first foals!

Spill The Beans always had a fine female pedigree to back up his good looks and ability, but that too has taken an upswing this year following the emergence of his three-quarter sister Kenedna.

Running for the powerful Darren Weir stable, Kenedna has won four stakes races this year including the Group II BRC The Roses and was second in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks.

A genuinely top class filly, she highlights the depth of this terrific pedigree which also features Australian Horse of the Year Bounding Away and Group I winner Speak Fondly.

Following on from Spill The Beans comes our next new recruit Furnaces, who offers brilliant speed and the power of the Danehill sireline through his champion son Exceed And Excel, a proven sire of sires.

A brilliant Group III winning juvenile that matched strides with Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, mare Heat Of The Fire, who traces back to influential matriarch Summoned.

This is the family of champion sprinter and sire Zeditave and more current stars such as dual Group I winner and $1.9 million earner Melito and this season's outstanding juvenile colt Pariah, whose full brother topped the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when fetching $2.5 million.

Registration is essential for these events.
