Love Conquers All Sired Savanna Amour Group 2 Victory at Caulfield!

Dubbed 'the Magic Man' Hong Kong-based Joao Moreira brought the best out of Love Conquers All sired 3yo filly Savanna Amour at the Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Savanna Amour won by a short head over Ellicazoom, while Oregon's Day was another short-half head away in third place.
Trainers, John and son Chris Meagher train in Queensland after previously and successfully training in Singapore. When they were formerly based in Victoria, they won the Melbourne Cup with What A Nuisance in 1985.
John was happy to be back in the winners stall in Melbourne.
"Thank God the Magic Man rode her," Meagher said.
"He rode her well but she's a decent filly, too. Joao's last three rides for me (in Singapore) were winners and now it's four wins."
Moreira said he did not ride a lot for Meagher when he was based in Singapore but their strike rate was good.
Moreira said Savanna Amour showed what she was capable of on Saturday.
"She's got a big heart," he said.
Terry from Team Thoroughbreds says, our Love Conquers All x Jessica's Hope (The Knight) is a very similar type to Savanna Amour... not an overly big horse, but a big engine at the back.
