Most Important $500,000 Bonus Hat Trick Win for Trainer Tony Gollan

On Saturday, Most Important didn't disappoint at Eagle Farm's Buffering Quality Handicap. The third win for Most Important in the summer sprint crown, securing a nice $500,000 bonus and joining the ranks of racing's millionaires.

Just as trainer Tony Gollan anticipated, Most Important didn't sprint as quickly under the 58kg but his tenacity was evident when he just took the win from Ninth Legion who had been front-running under 59kg.

"I tried not to think about it too much", Gollan said.

"I was so worried about the weight, but time and time again when trainer's whinge about the weight, they win."

"He's a very courageous horse. I knew he would try his guts out."

"It's a great reward for the animal and we're just along for the ride."

It was the second blow within 90 minutes for UBET, signing two separate $500,000 bonus cheques on Saturday.

Owner Linda Huddy took special satisfaction in the graduation of her horse that has been affectionately named "Mosty", going from unfulfilled talent to genuine stakes-class galloper.

"For a long time it looked like he was just going to be a Class 6 horse and we were happy with that," Huddy said.

"If you'd said six weeks ago he would be a million-dollar winner, I would have said that he needed to learn to race a lot better and fortunately for us, he's done that."

Jockey, Robbie Fradd has formed a brilliant bond with Most Important, teaching the 4yo gelding to settle better in his races and have something left in the tank at the finish.

"It's great that he's now learned to race properly and is living up to that ability," Fradd said.

The current race record for Most Important now stands at 7 wins from 24 starts with prizemoney of $569,775.00 plus bonuses.

It was announced on the Gollan Racing Facebook page yesterday, that they looked forward to welcoming the man of the moment Most Important back to the stables following his freshen up at Embrook Stables. 'He enjoyed his time out having a little freshen up and at this stage will press on to the Magic Millions Cup, Saturday week!"
