Most Important Win for Tony Gollan!

On Saturday, Tony Gollan won his second successive George Moore Stakes at Eagle Farm with Most Important. Last year Didntcostalot brought it home for Gollan but this year this gelding was sent to Sydney, relying on Most Important to deliver.

Gollan wasn't expecting such a strong finish from Most Important (his last win 2 months ago at Doomben) and not a lot of luck at Eagle Farm, but he certainly delivered an exciting win when he romped ahead from 5th place around the 150m mark, with Coolring lagging behind by almost 3 lengths at the finish.

"We gelded him before this campaign and he has been so tough. He had his first start this campaign in the winter carnival but he has just kept trying", said Gollan.

Most important had failed to win in six previous starts at Eagle Farm since its renovation.

"I always felt Doomben was a better track for the horse, so we were always a little reserved going to Eagle Farm with him, but we thought if we could get a track that was played to our running, running good sectionals, that he could run well in a great race by distance on the right conditions on Saturday and he ran just terrific", Gollan said.

Tony Gollan has decided not to spell Most Important and instead press on with the race in the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes at Doomben on December 17.

Most Important sired by I am Invincible out of dam Orange Marmalade is a 4yo gelding owned by Linda Huddy who is better known for Shoot Out. Linda Huddy had planned to head to Sydney for show jumping, however Tony Gollan and jockey Robbie Fradd talked her into staying for the race, saying that Most Important was doing pretty well.

The current race record for Most Important is 5 wins from 22 starts with prize money of $377,775.00
