Unencumbered the Leading First Season Sire at Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sales!

Written on the 17 March 2017

After encouraging results at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales on the Gold Coast and the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Three Bridges Thoroughbreds' Unencumbered finished as the leading first season sire at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale Book One.

Unencumbered, the 2014 Magic Millions Classic winner, totalling prizemoney of $1,908,850 in his career, had four yearlings sell in Adelaide at an average price of $71,875, with one colt fetching $85,000.

Unencumbered was also the most profiitable sire at this sale, returning 5.4 times his service fee.

Statistics from the Australian Studbook also confirmed that Unencumbered was one of the most popular sires in Victoria in 2016.

After servicing 119 and then 126 mares over the past two years, he went on to cover 142 mares in his third season, the same amount as high profile Toronado (IRE). The only other sires to cover more mares in Victoria are Written Tycoon, Magnus and Reward for Effort.

Unencumbered will have the follow through crops to build on any early success he achieves when his first runners make their way to the track later this year.

Team Thoroughbreds will have an Unencumbered colt ready for syndication soon. All the details will be supplied in a few weeks.
