Aquis Farm's Inaugural Stallion Parade Welcomes Over 1,000!

On Sunday, Terry accompanied by one of the owners of Stryker X Absolute Harmony, headed out to Queensland's fastest growing bloodstock enterprise, 447ha Aquis Farm at Canungra in the Queensland hinterland. Aquis opened its doors to over 1,000 people for the inaugural Stallion Parade - an RSVP event.

Racehorse breeders and enthusiasts were keen to catch a glimpse of the four world-class sires on offer for the current breeding season. Prior to the event, CEO Justin Fung had already received a lot of interest, expecting some of the stallion services to be sold out.

The proven breeders of Group 1 winners do not come cheap, with the stud's most expensive service fee for undefeated two-year-old stallion Spill the Beans being offered for $11,000. However, compare that to service fees in NSW or overseas and you're looking at even bigger dollars.

Ireland import, Holy Roman Emperor, who has produced 55 stake winners across the world, was available for the bargain service fee of $9,900. That's pretty good compared to his usual overseas rate of AUD$24,651.70. Holy Roman Emperor sired last year's Caulfield Cup winner Mongolian Khan.

Other world-class sires on offer were Domesday and Benfica.

Chief Operations Officer, Marcus Langer said, "We are committed to bringing the highest quality stallions to Queensland to benefit local breeders and further our local racing industry. This day however, is not just about the stallions. It's about Aquis Farm and the facilities and services we offer across the breeding spectrum, as well as other integral facets of the farm."

One of the highlights of the day was a guest appearance by Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Michelle Payne, who spoke at the lunch which followed the parade.

Terry said that no expense was spared at the event, with the Moet flowing, top-notch food aplenty and entertainment for the children.
