2016 Awards Look Promising For Our Colts

Some great news regarding Stryker and Love Conquers All came about from the 2016 TBA National Breeding Awards and the 2016 Queensland Breeding Champions by the Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Association (TBQA).

John & Margaret Thompson, breeders of Stryker sired Rangipo, won Breeder of the Australian-bred Exported Racehorse of the Year. Rangipo is by Three Bridges' resident stallion Stryker, out of the New Zealand-bred mare Holloway Castle. Rangipo recorded wins at Group level on four separate occasions throughout the season, highlighted by his thrilling victory in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby in March. The win was his seventh success of his three-year-old campaign, which also featured wins in the Group 2 Great Northern, Waikato and Avondale Guineas.

Five awards were handed out at the 2016 TBA National Breeding Awards Presentation, held in conjunction with Darley's Annual Stallion Parade.

Breeder of the Australian-bred Exported Racehorse of the Year: John & Margaret Thompson

Love Conquers All won one of the four awards handed out at the 2016 Queensland Breeding Champions by the TBQA.

You've already heard the hype on Love Conquers All, just missing out on the National Title by just $30 in the last few weeks of the season. Well, after conquering the Queensland breeding industry in his first season and dominating the National First Season table for much of the year, this young stallion took out the First Season Sire category.

President of Thoroughbred Breeders Australia, Mr Nolan said, "This is a tremendous result for any Sire, freshman or not." He went on to say, "He'll certainly be one to watch and it's great to see Sun Stud show their confidence in the Queensland industry with their strong stallion roster."

Love Conquers All has some promising gallopers, including 2yo Love Spy, Downloading and the half-brother to the Australian Champion, Buffering.
